How do I make a reservation?
- You can make a reservation online or by calling us. No walk in reservations available.
I’ve made a reservation. What happens next?
- Check your email for instructions specific to your reservation. Please review emails thoroughly to ensure you are properly prepared (and remember to check your junk folder if you are not seeing yours).
What is your cancellation policy?
- Cancellation notification must be made 24hrs prior to rental time in order to receive a full refund. Cancellations made in less than 24hrs prior to rental time will receive a 50% refund. All trips are rain or shine.
What should I bring on my trip?
- Swimwear (you will get wet)!
- Appropriate Footwear (water shoes, strap sandals or old tennis shoes)
- Sun Protection (sunscreen, hats and sunglasses with straps)
- Drinks for proper hydration
- Food and snacks
- Small Cooler
- Dry Bag
Is alcohol allowed?
- Alcohol is prohibited on rental trips as customer safety is our greatest concern.
Are rental trips weather dependent?
- No. All trips go out rain or shine. It is the customers responsibility to cancel as they deem appropriate. Please see our cancellation policy above?
Do you offer guided trips?
- No. We currently do not offer guided trips.
How old do I have to be to rent?
- You must be 21 years old to rent our kayaks
How old do I have to be to ride?
- Single kayaks must be manned by ages 13+ (if you are under 18, you must have an adult 21+ present at all times)
- Tandem kayaks may have riders as young as 6 when accompanied on the same kayak by an adult 21+.
What does my kayak rental include?
- Single Kayaks include one paddle and appropriate life jacket and tandem kayaks include two of each.
I don’t have a way to transport a kayak. Do you offer delivery and/or retrieval?
- We can deliver to almost anywhere in the area and fees are based on travel time in 15 minute increments up to 1 hour. Over an hour, please contact us for availability.
Do your kayaks have dry storage and room for a portable cooler?
- Yes. Each of our kayaks have a dry port in front of the seats and bungee cords at the rear of the kayak to hold bags or coolers. Dry bags are recommended to insure your items remain dry.
Do I need prior experience with a kayak?
- No. Our kayaks are very responsive and easy to maneuver making them very accessible for beginners.
Can these kayaks be used in white water?
- No. These are recreational kayaks only, meant for tamer waters.
What should I do if I’m caught in a storm on the water?
- The National Weather Service recommends remaining in your kayak at the center of the river/lake and not under the tree line as lighting tends to strike the highest points first. The only time it is recommended to pull over is if under a bridge (but not touching it).
Can my pet accompany me on my trip?
- Although we love our furry friends, we do not allow pets to accompany their owners on a rental.
*24 Hour Rentals*
Who is eligible to rent a kayak for 24 hours?
- As long as you have 2 vehicles that have a roof rack, or adequate truck bed to transport the kayak(s), we are able to rent to you.
Where do we pick up our 24 hour rental?
- Pickups for rentals is at base camp at our farm in Bybee.
What is the process for renting a 24 hour rentals?
- Each participant must sign a waiver. The renter understands that the kayak is to be returned in the same condition it is picked up in. A credit card is held on file in the instance of lost or stolen kayaks. Single Kayaks are $750, and tandem kayaks are $950. Once kayaks are returned, credit information is destroyed.
Will someone load the kayaks for me?
- No. Participants must be capable of loading the equipment themselves due to insurance restrictions. Nola River Adventures also retains the right to deny a rental if the vehicle brought to pick up the kayak(s) is not adequate for safe transportation.
What happens if I am unable to return the equipment in the 24 hour rental?
- Renters will be charged $35 for each 2 hours a kayak is past its assigned return time.
